Join the Men's Club for breakfast at Fiona's Family Restaurant (5026 15th St E, Bradenton in the Ollie's shopping center).
Our next “Women of Beth El” luncheon meeting is Monday December 16th at noon at Peridia Golf Course. It’s just down the street from the Temple. Contact Bonnie Krasik at firstname.lastname@example.org if you think you’re going so we can give Peridia a head count. We will have a Pre-Chanukah theme.
Join the TBE folks for a movie suitable for children and adults alike - "The Rabbi's Cat (Le Chat du Rabbin)" from France. This is a 2011 French animated film that tells the story of a cat who obtains the ability to speak after swallowing a parrot, and its owner who is a rabbi in 1920's Algeria. Of course the movie will be preceded by Chef Rabbi Sternfield's Chinese dinner. Call the Temple to reserve your place. Cost: $15 for members, $18 for non-members and an extra $5 at the door without reservations.
Bring your menorah (as is our tradition) and we will light them all as the one big family that we are. Our choir will sing, our musicians will play, and we will feast on a delicious and festive Oneg of latkes and sufganiot (jelly doughnuts). Bring the kids. What could be better?
On January 12, we have planned a "Sea Life Encounter Cruise". This is a Sarasota Bay ecotour. We will examine the sea life in and on the bottom of the bay, as well as the nesting sites of pelicans and other gulf birds. Our guide will be a marine biologist from Mote. The trip is in no way physically demanding, so anyone can go. The address is 1600 Ken Thompson Parkway, City Island, Sarasota. The time is 11:00 AM. The cost of this 2 hour tour is approx $30. The price will depend upon how many people go, and whether there is a price increase for 2020. The sign up will be in the Temple lobby.
