Saturday, March 9th 5:30 pm - Dinner, Havdalah and a great Jewish Film - Back by popular demand Temple Beth El will once again begin its Jewish International Film Series. Please join us for a pot luck dairy dinner followed by a Havdalah service and then a wonderful movie with a Jewish theme. Following the movie will be time for discussion. Join us for dinner followed by the excellent documentary film: “Broadway Musicals: a Jewish Legacy.” The havdalah blessings led by Cantor Bard, followed by the film. For members, there is no charge except to bring a dish for the potluck dinner. Non-Members: $5 (for the film only). Please no meat items, kugels or desserts. Our last potluck dinner was a real feast. There were many delicious and creative dishes. Let’s do it again...together! Broadway Musicals: A Jewish Legacy – narrated by Joel Grey — explores the unique role of Jewish composers and lyricists in the creation of the modern American musical. Featuring interviews and conversations with some of the greatest composers and writers of the Broadway stage, The filmshowcases the work of some of the nation’s pre-eminent creators of musical theatre including Irving Berlin, Jerome Kern, George and Ira Gershwin, Lorenz Hart, Richard Rodgers, Oscar Hammerstein II, Kurt Weill, Sheldon Harnick, Jerry Bock, Leonard Bernstein and many others.
