JOIN OUR LIST |
 |
|
|
Please join us this Friday night, Oct.
1st for Simchat Torah! Simchat Torah is
our annual festival of rejoicing in the
Torah. We read the last words of
Deuteronomy, which describe the death of
Moses, our greatest prophet. We
then immediately turn to a second scroll
and read the opening words of Genesis,
the story of Creation.
Come and be part of the celebration as
we carry our beloved Torah scrolls
through the congregation. The most
beautiful sight of all is the giant
circle, the unrolling of an entire
Torah, and each person holding onto
one individual section of the sacred
scroll. Visually, it is the most
captivating moment of our ritual year.
Moadim L'simcha / Happy Sukkot &
Simchat Torah!
|
On behalf
of the Ritual Committee, I would like to
thank all who participated in our High
Holy Day services. It takes all of us
to work with our Rabbi and Cantor to
make these services beautiful and
meaningful. To all organizers, office
staff, setters-up, clearers-up, ushers,
audio-visual managers, providers of
pot-luck and flowers, musicians,
security personnel, bimah participants,
contributors of funds and contributors
to the food drive, and of course to all
attendees -- TODAH RABAH. Kate Richmond
